- Job Seeker: Gary
- Success Story: I walked in the door of GreeneWorks unsure of what lied ahead.
I felt discouraged and unsure of myself, no thanks to the HR departments of several area businesses.
I was surprised to be met with a genuine verbal "Welcome to GreeneWorks" and several warm smiles
accompanying the staff member's greetings. It wasn't because I was a new face, that's the way
everyone is treated, with personal interest, respect, and genuine care. I have discovered that
it starts at the top, even the director gets involved in your life and seeks to help you find
direction and purpose. Job hunting is exactly that....a job.... but the GreeneWork staff has
broken it down to manageable parts and assisted with each aspect. Skill assessment, personal
interests inventory, goal clarification, resume preparation, interviewing skills, career
opportunities and actual job searching. Though I was often at this office I never felt
like I was a nuisance, in fact ...just the opposite, the more I needed and ask of the staff
the more they were willing to give. Everyone was available to offer advice, they complimented
my efforts by looking for opportunities that matched my interests and they repeatedly encouraged me on.
The staff at GreeneWorks worked hard for me and I know they will do the same for you. Kudos to you,
Director Amy, and to all your staff!!! My sincere thanks and appreciation. Oh, by the way, I'm sure
enjoying my NEW JOB!
- Job Seeker: Suzanne
- Success Story: In the summer of 2005 I had the misfortune of unemployment,
yet was blessed with learning about the offerings from the GreeneWorks office.
My experience with all members of the Greeneworks office was a positive and
bright spot in an otherwise disconcerting period of my life. Everyone I
encountered in the GreeneWorks office contributed to my employment seeking
efforts.from intake interview, to one-on-one support mentoring, interviewing
techniques, and just plain friendly support. In addition, I was assisted with
the administrative and financial support to participate in the Work Investment
Act (WIA) program. The WIA program enabled me to update my computer skills thus
enabling me to become more readily marketable. The employment I was able to
secure is a wonderful position working with the US Government as an Acquisition
manager. My new career has enabled me to earn the best salary I've been able to
secure my entire employment career.
